Charles E. Perkins
Until 2007, I was a Research Fellow at
Nokia Corporation,
in the
Silicon Valley division
of
Nokia Research Center.
I have worked on projects involving Mobile-IP, Ad-Hoc Networking, IPv6,
mesh networking, and AAA protocols.
I've also worked on projects involving miniaturization of
operating systems, parallel processing, and lots of
Unix systems administration. Unix systems have always been
great at networking, so I learned a lot about the Internet
(and people!) by administering communities of technical
professionals using networked computers.
During 2007, I left Nokia and began my assignment to
Nokia-Siemens Networks.
In December 2007, as a cost-cutting measure, Nokia-Siemens
terminated our highly successful project in Mountain View
and, consequently, the employment of our whole group.
Note: this page is terribly out of date. I have at least
updated my employment situation, but there are many
patents, publications, and even a new book that I'd like
to include here.
